Terms of Service

1) Who we are & what this covers

Welcome to B Kids Daycare (“B Kids”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your (a) use of our website and any parent portal or communication app we designate (collectively, the “Site”), and (b) enrollment and participation in our childcare services (the “Services”). By accessing the Site or enrolling a child, you agree to these Terms.

2) Eligibility & enrollment

Enrollment requires completion of all centre forms/consents and agreement to the Parent Handbook and payment policies. You’ll be asked to sign a Handbook Acknowledgement & Fee Agreement at intake.

3) Hours, attendance & closures
  • Operating hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. Closed weekends and statutory holidays. Children must be picked up by 6:00 PM; late pick-up fees apply. No drop-off after 9:30 AM without management approval.
  • Holiday & seasonal closures are communicated in advance (e.g., statutory holidays, first business week of July, end-of-year period).
  • Policy updates are communicated in advance.
4) Sign-in/out, pick-ups & safe release
  • Children must be electronically signed in/out by a parent/guardian via our designated app. Please notify us by 8:30 AM of any absence.
  • Alternate pick-ups require advance notice; we require photo ID and a passcode phrase for the authorized adult.
  • For safety, we do not release a child to anyone without proper authorization; if a pick-up adult lacks a car seat or appears impaired, we will contact emergency services.
5) Fees, payments & late/NSF
  • Tuition is billed monthly and auto-paid through our designated parent app / electronic funds transfer on the first business day of each month. A late payment fee of $5/day applies to overdue accounts; NSF fee is $50. Repeated/serious arrears may result in suspension until the account is current.
  • If an outstanding balance remains, daily late fees continue to accrue and accounts may be referred to collections.
6) Changes to enrollment & withdrawal
  • To change or withdraw enrollment, provide at least one full calendar month’s written notice (e.g., notice on March 1 takes effect April 1). Where applicable, some changes (e.g., program/days reductions) may require two months’ notice.
  • Outstanding balances continue to accrue late fees until paid in full; unpaid accounts may be sent to collections.
7) Health, illness & exclusion
  • Keep children home if they cannot participate comfortably in routine indoor/outdoor activities or if they are ill; if your child becomes unwell at the center, you or your emergency contact must pick up immediately (staff decision under health guidelines is final).
  • Return-to-care windows follow our Health & Well-Being Policy (e.g., certain conditions require 24 hours after treatment or a physician’s note). See detailed condition-specific timelines in the Handbook.
8) Medications & allergies
  • Routine medication administration by staff is not provided; emergency medications (e.g., EpiPens, inhalers) must be supplied in their original packaging with physician instructions and are stored securely but accessible for emergencies.
  • We operate a nut- and shellfish-free environment. Please follow all posted nutrition restrictions.
9) Meals, screen time & daily program

We provide a play-based curriculum aligned to BC’s Early Learning Framework, daily active play, and nutrition aligned menus. Screen time is not provided in our program.

10) Emergencies & closures

We maintain an emergency plan (e.g., evacuation, power outage, earthquake, natural disasters) and follow Fraser Health supervision/reporting requirements. You must keep current contact information and be reachable for rapid pick-up if requested.

11) Media, cameras & parent communications
  • With your consent, we may capture photos/video for center photo albums or our private parent community (e.g., private Facebook group); we do not share footage with third parties beyond parents in the private group.
  • We may provide live-view cameras and biometric access features for families as part of our transparency and safety program; usage is subject to our access rules and privacy safeguards.
12) Parent portal accounts & acceptable use (Site terms)
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of parent-portal credentials and for activity on your account. Notify us immediately of suspected unauthorized access.
  • You agree not to misuse the Site (e.g., no scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to circumvent access controls; no sharing of camera feeds or children’s images outside approved private groups).
  • We may suspend or terminate Site access for misuse or safety/privacy concerns.
13) Privacy

Our privacy practices for families (including video/photography preferences and records) are described in the Handbook and supplemental notices we provide from time to time. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards and limit sharing as described above.

14) Center rules take precedence

If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Parent Handbook or posted center policies, the specific center policy/Handbook will govern day-to-day childcare expectations; material policy changes are communicated in advance.

15) Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site is provided “as is.” While we strive for accuracy and uptime, we do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing here limits our obligations under applicable childcare regulations.

16) Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, B Kids is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from Site use. This does not limit liability where prohibited (e.g., willful misconduct). Childcare safety obligations remain governed by applicable law and our licensed policies.

17) Changes to these Terms and the Services

We may update these Terms, fees, or program features; where changes affect your family materially (e.g., operating hours, fee structure), we will provide advance notice via the parent portal/email. Continued use of the Site or Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

18) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and applicable Canadian law. You agree to the courts of British Columbia (Metro Vancouver) as the exclusive venue.
